 If you were examined by an ophthalmologist and have been told that you’re not an eligible candidate for LASIK, or if the glasses number are very high,the other vision correction options are:

 The choice of refractive procedure is based on the power of glasses, eye parameters and age of patient. We examine your eyes in detail to decide what option would be best for your eyes.Following is a rough guideline to help you understand the refractive options for various spectacles power:

  • -1 to -10 (normal cornea):Lasik –standard/ customized or wavefront guided.
  • -1 to-8 (borderline cornea): Ultra Thin Flap Lasik.
  • -1 to -8 (borderline thin cornea): PRK-Surface Ablation/ Epi Lasik.
  • -8 to -20 (any type of cornea): ICL-Implantable Collamer Lens-Phakic Intraocular Lens.
  • -15 to-30 (age >40yrs): CLE-Clear Lens Extraction/Refractive Lens Exchange.
  • +2 to +6 (normal cornea) : Lasik
  • More then +10 : CLE/ Refractive Lens Exchange
  • Presbyopia (near vision problem in elderly) : Monovision Lasik
